Shiny, happy fat people
I just picked up these little fat figures at a gallery down the street and they really made my day. I especially love the fat thinker.
These are just resin reproductions (the dancers are about 6" tall), and I am trying to find out some information about the original artist since the web address that I got doesn't work. I'll post an update in case anyone is interested.

cute! have you figured where they shall reside in your home?
For now, I have them in my office at school. I put the fat thinker on my desk for inspiration, and the rest are arranged on a shelf.
OK, so I went back to the gallery and got the remaining three little figures that I didn't get before.
I found out that the artist's name is Tomeko, and the series is called "All About Me". I went to the gallery's website, but Tomeko isn't listed there. Apparently she is a local artist, and she did the originals and then the gallery had the resin reproductions made. And apparently they are the same size.
That's all I've got for now.
These are great figurines! I'm reading this really empowering book right now called Embracing Your Big Fat Ass and I'm thinking that one of these on my desk would go a long way as a visual representation of accepting myself just the way I am. :)
